The center was founded in 2003 in the North Oakland neighborhood of Temescal. Temescal is centrally located and adjacent to Rockridge, Piedmont, and downtown Oakland. It is home to a diverse, eclectic community. Our clinic has several licensed acupuncturists, massage therapists, and a nutritionist. We also have a fully stocked herbal pharmacy.

 

Historically a temescal was a Native American sweat lodge used for healing. Though we keep the rooms at a comfortable 71 degrees, we are continuing in our predecessors' healing tradition.
